Come Jesus Come: Jude 1

14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”  And V. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 

 

Jesus promised He is coming back.

• John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

What are we to do until He comes? Jude helps us to know.

1. Know we are Content for the Faith. V. 3.

³ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

• Verbal inspiration.
• Virgin birth.
• Vicarious death.
• Victorious resurrection.
• Visible return.
• Volitional reception of the faith. The gospel.

2. Know the Lie and recognize the Liars. Vv. 4-16

• GOD IS WHATEVER WE WANT HIM TO BE & we can decide which PATH LEADs us INTO GOD’S PRESENCE.
  • 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ
  • But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. ¹ Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (unbelief) and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward and perished in the gainsaying (rebellion) of Korah. Vv. 10-11
    • The liars are unbelievers of the word of God.
    • The liars are greedy for the blessings of God but none of the responsibilities that come with knowing God.
    • They are rebels to from the authority of God.

3. Know how to build your faith. Vv. 20-23

• But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.  And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

1. 1. 1. 1. Grow in grace Open your bible and listen to the revealed will of God.
         2. Pray in the Spirit and ask God about the secret will of God.
         3. Love God with your attitudes, aspirations and actions.
         4. Make a difference with your time, talent and treasures.

4. Know Who will take care of you. vv. 24-25

• Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

1. 1. He will give you the illumination you need.
   2. He will give you strength you need.
   3. He will give you the resources you need to be faithful.

Conclusion:

1. Jude says to prepare for Jesus’ coming by contenting for the faith. How? Know the content of the faith. Expose the lies of the ememy. Give yourself to spiritual growth and being on mission for God. Know God, worship God by giving Him glory, majesty, dominon and power in your world.
2. Love God, Share God’s love.
3. Come Jesus Come
